Driver, the classic racing series currently owned aside Ubisoft, is acquiring an unlikely resurrection in the build of a live-action TV show.

The Driver Television receiver series, which will air on upcoming cyclosis platform Binge, will stress on "undercover agent ex-racecar driver John Sixpence, whose mission is to take down [a] local anesthetic law-breaking syndicate," Ubisoft explained in a public press discharge. We don't have casting or additive details just yet, only Allan Ungar of Binge careful plans "to deliver an original, premium, and rich storytelling experience that leave adopt fans and newcomers on a thrilling depend upon."

We haven't seen anything from Driver since 2014's Driver: Speedboat Eden racy game, and before that, 2011's Nintendo 3DS alone Driver: Renegade 3D. That said, most fans will likely commemorate the serial for its last full-fat installment: the delightfully weird Device driver: San Francisco, which conjunctive an abstract story with a fun shift auto-mechanic that lease you hop betwixt vehicles at leave.

Racing games are generally propped up by a bad standard storyline about proving yourself as a racer, but the Driver series has always had a bit of insect bite to its narratives that made it stall out – name another courageous that puts you in the shoes of a unconscious driver living it up in an extended dream – then, at premier blush, it seems like a white choice for a live-action adaptation.

The Driver series will follow free to stream happening Binge, a new declared service devoted to gaming adaptations. Proclaimed during E3 2021, the subscription-free platform is still finalizing its launch roadmap.

Both Englut and the Driver series will arrive in 2022.

Interim, a live-action Pokemon series is apparently gallery to Netflix.
